Vigil Location:

Cherry Hill Women's Center
502 Kings Hwy N.
Cherry Hill, NJ 08034

40 Days of intense prayer:
We ask your continuous and intense prayers for the closing of the Cherry Hill Women's Center and the success of our 40 Days for Life and the conversion of all involved in abortion including the staff, owners and all those involved in abortion.  In the right column there are both Christian  and Catholic pro-life prayers and Scripture verses.   Please click on our 54 Day Rosary Novena to sign up.  It starts Sept. 8th.

40 Days of Fasting:
Scripture tells us that some demons can only be driven out through prayer AND fasting.  By fasting we mean giving up something and offering it as a sacrifice for the success of the 40 Days for Life.

Some possible fasting suggestions:
1. give up coffee and tea for 40 Days and drink only water
2. give up all deserts and sweets
3. give up a tv show and pray or read scriptures
4. give up meat on Fridays
5. give up going out to eat and give the money to a crisis pregnancy Center such as Good Counsel
6. or try doing all of the above.  The more generous we are the more babies will be saved and the more successful we will be in bringing a culture of life to our area and gain graces for the whole world.

The schedule is set up for 1/2 hour slots because some volunteer may start on the hour and some on the 1/2 hour.  To sign up for an hour please choose two 1/2 hour slots.  To sign up for the same time every week after choosing the day and time click on "weekly signup".

Parking/standing instructions:

The clinic owns two buildings, 500 & 502 Kings Hwy N.  They are stone buildings and attached in the middle.  Please do not park or walk onto the property of either building.  You may stand on the public sidewalk in front of 502 Kings Hwy to pray.  You may also give out flyers to women coming into the clinic as long as they pass by the sidewalk.  Please do not walk onto the grass or parking lot (black top)of the clinic even if someone asks for help.  There is a no trespassing sign.
You can park across the street from the clinic or at Christ Our Light,  formerly St. Peter Celestine.  You can also park on Knoll St. Click
HERE
for Map.

Continuous Prayers and Reparation:

The most important part of our campaign is to keep the prayers going continously on the sidewalk of the abortion clinic.  Please try to keep talking to a minimium.  Too much talking can be looked upon as a sign of indifference to women going into the clinic in crisis pregnancies with nobody to turn to and the fact that babies are being killed at the site.
Prayer makes miracles alive even in modern days (Mother Teresa)
Mt 7:7; Mk 11:24; Lk 1:37!

Prayer Suggestions:

To the right of this website you will find links for both Christian and Catholic Prayers that can be said during your vigil hour at the clinic.

Other areas you can help:

You can help us to get the announcement of 40 Days for Life in your Church Bulletins or distribute flyers in Adoration chapels or churches.

Donate toward printing handouts with Abortion Alternative information to the women coming into the abortion clinic.

Vigil coordinators
We are in need of vigil coordinators that can help oversee 3 hours once a week at the abortion clinic and be in charge of calling the volunteers that are on your 3 hour shift the night before to remind them of their hour and help get volunteers to fill your 3 hour vigil time slot.  We need at least 28 vigil coodinators to adopt 3 hours, once a week for 6 weeks (40 Days) at the clinic.  We have approximately 1/2 of the vigil coordinators needed so far.

Many babies have been spared the pain of abortion and mothers and fathers spared a life-time of regret here in Cherry Hill because of our campaign.  We have also been able to reach out to many post-abortion men and women who have found healing by our public presence.  Some stories are written in our Blog tab.

Our Vigil is a peaceful prayer presence.  We obey all laws and we are respectful and try to bring Christ's Love to everyone including police, women in crisis pregnancy, and clinic workers.

Fasting

By fasting we mean giving up something like sweets or coffee and offering it to God for these intentions.  Please click on the link to the right to read more about Fasting.

Why pray at the Clinic instead of at home or in church?

"If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well," but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it?  James 2:14

Many pregnant moms coming to the clinic want to keep their babies but are in need of a home or other necessities.  We bring flyers with us that have the phone #'s of crisis pregnancy centers, homes for pregnant moms and adoption information.

Other moms and dads are just in need of our peaceful prayer presence to remind them of God's love for them and for their babies.

By coming to the clinic we have the opportunity to be missionaries for Christ without having to go to a foreign land.  The babies and moms and dads need our presence to remind them that Christ is still alive today and cares for them.

There is no such thing as the right to kill an innocent human being says the Archbishop Burgos

The Archbishop of Burgos (Spain) Francisco Gil Hellin, in a recent statement reported by the Catholic News Agency, affirmed that there is no such thing as the right to kill an innocent human and consequently, no obligation to comply with Spain's new law on abortion. Rather “direct opposition without distinction” must be mounted, he added and continued. “ This law is not a law, although it is presented as such by some politicians and lawmakers. It is no law because nobody has the right to take the life of an innocent human being. For this reason it is not obligatory. Moreover, it demands direct opposition without distinction,” the archbishop said underscoring that reason cannot recognize abortion as a right because it constitutes the killing “of a person who is not guilty. The right of a person to exist who has already been conceived, although not yet born, is not a belief stemming from any religion. One does not need to be a believer to hold that an innocent person has the right to be defended and respected in his or her integrity. Common sense dictates that one cannot take a human life in order to solve another problem or to “get money or votes,” Bishop Hellin continued. The Archbishop urged Spaniards to help all mothers who are in difficult situations and to support motherhood “with all the means at our disposal” in order to “halt this plague of abortion that, in Spain alone has already destroyed more people than all those who live in the cities of Zaragoza, Cordoba and Burgos.” (AP) (15/7/2010 Agenzia Fides)

Mother Theresa on Abortion

"Mother Teresa of Calcutta was
called from this world on
September 5, 1997.
In my many conversations with
her about the pro-life movement,
it was very clear that she expected
us not simply to pray but to
intervene. She told me about how
she went to the places where
abortions were performed and
took the women by the arm, away
from that place of death and to
her communities where they
would find hope and life for
themselves and their children."
Fr. Frank Pavonne, Priests for Life

“If we allow a mother to kill her
own child, how can we tell people
not to kill each other?”

Congressman Henry Hyde

"When the times comes as it surely will, when we face that awesome moment, the final judgment, I've often thought, as Fulton Sheen wrote, that it is
a...terrible moment of loneliness.
You have no advocates, you are there alone standing before God
...and a terror will rip your soul like nothing you can imagine.
But, I really think that those in the pro-life movement will not be alone.
I think there'll be a chorus of voices that have never been heard in this world but are heard beautifully and clearly in the next world....and they will plead for everyone who has been in this movement.
They will say to God, "Spare him, because he loved us."
....and God will look at you and say NOT, "Did you succeed?" BUT "Did you try?"
~Congressman Henry Hyde
